The Hi-Tech Diamond Slant Cabber - Glass & Crystal Model is a uniquely-angled lap machine that makes an excellent tool for cold working art glass. Grind, shape and polish glass and crystals to make free-form shapes and cabochons for necklaces, earrings, rings and other jewelry pieces. You can also create polished windows in glass marbles or beads.
The Slant Cabber also makes the perfect workbench tool for you if you work with cold glass or fused glass. It gives your glass projects smooth edges with a professional, finished look.
This machine is powered by a 1/4 hp, heavy-duty, ball bearing, DC motor. This motor is variable speed, delivering speeds from 800 rpm to 3,400 rpm so you can work at whatever pace you desire.
Despite its powerful motor, the Hi-Tech Diamond Slant Cabber - Glass & Crystal Model is also quiet, so you can work without disturbing others. Plus, it's lightweight, impact-resistant, and rustproof, thanks to its cross-linked polyethylene housing, making it easy to transport and long-lasting.
This slant cabber also comes with a water reservoir which holds about a quart of water, preventing heat buildup while you work and removing dust particles so you don’t inhale any harsh chemicals. The water control valve lets you control the water flow while you work and a splash guard keeps water off you so you don’t get soaked while you work.
The Slant Cabber comes with an accessory kit specially designed for grinding, shaping and polishing glass and crystal. (If you plan on polishing rocks, minerals and/or metals, we suggest purchasing the Slant Cabber Rock & Mineral model.)
The accessory kit includes a 360 grit electroplated diamond disc, a 600 grit electroplated diamond disc, a 1,200 grit electroplated diamond disc, a 3,000 grit electroplated diamond disc, a Tech-11 polishing pad, a 2-gram 14,000 grit diamond paste syringe, 2 acrylic backing plates (1 for diamond discs and 1 for Tech-11 pad), and 2 disc bushings.
This kit allows you to work right out of the box. The grinding and polishing process makes easy work of grinding, shaping and polishing glass and crystal. The electroplated diamond discs are easily interchangeable and only require 1 backing plate for all 4 discs.
The Slant Cabber also comes with an Allen wrench and a complete written and visual instruction manual to help you get started quickly and easily. Plus, it's backed by a 1-year manufacturer's warranty for your peace of mind.
